Shrubs and Hedge Plants in the Philippines
13 shrub species with published prices, from ₱75 hedging plants to ₱3,000 feature specimens. Screening, massing, and foliage accents for gardens and condominium buffers.
Shrubs do the screening, the massing, and the color. We supply 13 species used as hedge plants, privacy screens, condominium buffer planting, and foliage accents. Prices run from ₱75 to ₱3,000 per plant.
For hedging and screening runs, the cheap workhorses matter more than the specimens: Red Button Ginger at ₱75, Cinamomo at ₱80, and Croton at ₱85 per plant across any cultivar. These are the plants that fill a 20 meter boundary without wrecking a budget. Bird of Paradise, Heliconia, and Monstera sit at the other end, priced as feature planting.
Sizes run from 1 ft starter plants to 15 ft Heliconia stands. Volume tiers start at around 50 plants, which is where most hedging orders land. The per-plant tiers are published on each plant page.

Shrubs questions
How much do hedge plants cost in the Philippines?
Our published range is ₱75 to ₱3,000 per plant. For hedging and screening, the practical picks are Red Button Ginger at ₱75, Cinamomo at ₱80, and Croton at ₱85 per plant for any cultivar. Feature planting costs more: Bird of Paradise runs ₱300 to ₱3,000, Heliconia ₱200 to ₱2,000, and Monstera ₱200 to ₱3,000. Volume discounts start at roughly 50 plants.
Which shrubs work as a privacy screen?
Height is what you are buying. Heliconia reaches 15 ft depending on variety, Ti Plant reaches 5 ft, and Monstera climbs to 4 ft. Bird of Paradise holds a dense 1.5 ft to 4 ft mass and is both pool-safe and salt-tolerant, which makes it a common choice for coastal boundaries. For a fast, cheap boundary run, Croton and Cinamomo are planted at tight spacing.
Which shrubs are pool-safe?
10 of the 13: Bantolinao, Bird of Paradise, Cinamomo, Croton, Eugenia (Red Top), Heliconia, Maki (Podocarpus), Red Button Ginger, Santan, and Ti Plant. Of those, Bantolinao, Bird of Paradise, Maki (Podocarpus), and Red Button Ginger are also salt-tolerant, so they suit a beachfront or a coastal pool deck. Calathea Zebrina, Monstera, and Philodendron Selloum are not listed as pool-safe.
Which shrubs handle shade?
Calathea Zebrina is the true shade plant here. Philodendron Selloum is adaptable and takes a range of light, which is why it shows up under canopy and in open beds alike. Most of the flowering shrubs, including Bird of Paradise and Croton, want full sun to hold their color. Croton is the clearest case: in deep shade its leaves revert toward mostly green, and partial shade washes the color out.
