Swimming Pool Repair
Most pool repairs get quoted before anyone has worked out what actually failed. That is why the same pool gets fixed twice.
We diagnose first, tell you which failure you have, and quote the repair that addresses it. Sometimes that means telling you the problem is your water chemistry and there is nothing to repair.

The pool is losing water
What it usually is
Evaporation, a plumbing leak, a shell leak, or a leaking skimmer throat. These need completely different repairs and cost very different amounts, so the diagnosis comes first.
How we tell the difference
A bucket test separates evaporation from a real leak. After that, isolating the plumbing from the shell tells us which side it is on. A shell leak gets dye-tested to find it. Philippine pools lose real water to evaporation in dry season, and more than a few "leaks" turn out to be weather.
Cracked, loose or missing tiles
What it usually is
Tile that comes away in whole sheets is a bond failure, not a tile failure. The usual causes are voids behind the sheet, cement grout used against glass, or a substrate that moved.
Why it matters which
Sticking the tiles back on without fixing the cause gets you the same call next year. Glass and stone take all their bond from the adhesive because the tile itself absorbs nothing, so any unfilled void behind a sheet becomes a water pocket and drives it off.
Rough, stained or blotchy plaster
What it usually is
Plaster is a wearing surface with a service life, not a permanent finish. Etching and mottling come from water that has been aggressive for a long time, and at some point resurfacing is cheaper than chasing it.
The honest version
Resurfacing is a scheduled cost, not a fault. If your pool is old enough, nobody did anything wrong.
Green or cloudy water that will not clear
What it usually is
Circulation, filtration or chemistry, in that order. A pump that is undersized or running too few hours will not clear a pool no matter what you put in it.
What we check
Turnover rate against pool volume, filter condition and media age, then the water balance. This is the repair most likely to end with us telling you to change a habit rather than buy anything.
Noisy pump, weak flow, dead equipment
What it usually is
A blocked or air-locked suction line, worn seals, a clogged filter, or a motor at end of life. Noise and weak flow often have the same root cause and it is rarely the motor.
Before you replace it
Ask whether the pump was ever the right size. An oversized pump on a small pool runs hot, wastes power and wears out early, and replacing it with the same size repeats the mistake.
Cracked or lifting coping, or a deck pulling away from the pool
What it usually is
Ground movement, drainage running the wrong way, or a deck poured without a joint at the pool edge.
What actually fixes it
The drainage, usually. Recoping over a drainage problem buys you a year. This is the repair where being a landscape company helps, because the fix is outside the pool.
How we work
- Tell us what you are seeing. Photos and a rough age for the pool get us most of the way.
- Site visit and diagnosis. We test rather than guess. The visit is charged, and it is credited against the repair if you go ahead with us. Diagnosis is the work, and a free visit is worth what you pay for it.
- A written finding. What failed, why, and what happens if you leave it. In plain words.
- Quotation with options. Where a cheap fix and a proper fix both exist, you get both with the trade-off stated, including how long the cheap one lasts.
- The work. Photographed before anything gets covered up, same as our construction jobs.
We will tell you when not to repair
Two situations come up often. A pool whose shell has gone is not worth resurfacing, and you are better off knowing before you spend. And a pool that is structurally fine but dated is usually a retile and a new surround, not a rebuild.
We would rather lose the job than sell you the wrong one, mostly because the wrong one comes back.
What repairs cost
We do not publish a repair price list, because almost every repair here is priced after we know what failed. A leak that turns out to be a skimmer throat and a leak that turns out to be the shell are the same symptom and a very different invoice, and any number we printed before looking would be a guess dressed as a quotation.
What we can tell you before we come is what the visit costs, and that it comes off the repair if you go ahead with us. The visit is ₱5,000.
Send photos first. Most of the time we can tell you roughly which category you are in, and occasionally we can tell you that you do not need us.
We are collecting repair quotations across Cavite and Laguna now, the same way we did for the construction cost guide. When there is enough of it to be worth publishing, it goes up with the method attached.
What we do not do
Weekly or monthly maintenance contracts. The travel does not work at our distances, and a maintenance contract we service badly is worse than no contract.
We do one-off repairs, and we will hand over a maintenance schedule written for your finish so whoever does the weekly work does it correctly. Natural stone in particular needs different chemistry from tile, and the standard acid wash a pool service will reach for damages it.
Where we work
Luzon. Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Metro Manila are routine. Further out in Luzon we will come, with travel quoted as its own line.
Repairs are more travel-sensitive than construction, because the job is smaller and the diagnosis often needs a second visit. We cover the Visayas for pool construction and we do not stretch repairs that far. If you are outside Luzon, send photos anyway and we will tell you what we think it is, free, even though we cannot come and fix it.
Common questions
How do I know if my pool is really leaking?
Fill a bucket with pool water, sit it on a step so it is partly submerged, mark the level inside and outside, and leave the pump running for 24 hours. If the pool drops more than the bucket, you have a leak. If they drop together, it is evaporation.
Can you fix a leak without draining the pool?
Often, yes, depending on where it is. Plumbing leaks and skimmer throats are frequently repairable with the pool full. Shell leaks usually are not.
How long does a pool finish last?
Plaster is a wearing surface and gets resurfaced periodically. Tile and stone are effectively limited by the grout and the bond rather than the tile. Fibreglass gelcoat lasts a long time and fades.
These are trade expectations rather than Philippine measurements. We have not found Philippine service-life data for pool finishes, and year-round use and heavy chlorination plausibly shorten them here.
My pool was built badly. Can it be fixed?
Usually, and the question is whether it is worth it. Send photos and the age, and we will tell you which category you are in before anybody visits.
